This year's California Floral Convention had the pleasure of presenting Ed Van Wingerden the Distingused Service Award.

Ed Van Wingerden, a leader in environmentally friendly growing practices and owner of the largest gerbera farm in the
country, Ever-Bloom Inc., has earned this year's award for his company's most innovative eco-friendly practices

Hydroponic watering system, a comprehensive recycling program for cardboard, green waste and scrap metal and an integrated pest management system are some of his environmental practices.

Members and guests watched as Kim Kudo, president of CAFG&S, presented Ed Van Wingerden, the 2008 Distinguished Service Award during the Friday's California Breakfast.
