Life In Bloom
J Schwanke’s Life In Bloom is a lifestyle television show centered around flowers broadcast on public television stations nationwide in the United States. CalFlowers has been an underwriter of the show since its first season in 2019. Currently, the show reaches 92-98% of the country every week, and is seen in 167 markets on 374 stations, including the Top 25 markets. The show is also featured on the Create TV network in 5 national time slots throughout the week, providing 210 minutes of flower programming to the general public each week, coast to coast, encouraging viewers to enjoy flowers in their everyday lives. The show is also available to stream on the PBS App and at uBloom.com – all free of charge.
The show is hosted by flower industry education leader, J Schwanke (AAF, AIFD, PFCI). Through the show, J empowers viewers to enjoy a lifestyle arranged around flowers, with simple techniques that ensure flower-arranging success. Viewers have heard the call to relax with flowers, enjoying the health and wellness benefits in the process. J's love of flowers informs crafting, cooking, and flower beverage segments, with guests (aka “flower friends”) and on-location visits to flower farms and flower destinations.
“I LOVE to visit flower farms and show viewers not only their wonder and beauty, but also the hard work and commitment involved in a successful flower farm,” says Schwanke. “Some of my most memorable and enjoyable times have been spending a day getting to know flower farmers.”
“Just as rewarding are the comments we receive from viewers on how flowers make a difference in their lives,” continued Schwanke. “Many viewers are new to the power of flowers or had forgotten the effect of flowers over the years, and now, have renewed enthusiasm for flowers.”
