2025 Memorial Day Flowers Event Brings the Floral Industry Together
Each year on Memorial Day, the floral industry unites in a powerful act of remembrance and gratitude through the coordination of the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation. The annual event, now in its 15th year, brings together hundreds of volunteers and floral professionals, as well as thousands of participants, to honor fallen service members with flowers.
This year, the Foundation and its community of supporters prepared and distributed more than 200,000 flowers at the Arlington National Cemetery (ANC), an effort made possible by 30 core volunteers and the generosity of floral companies from across the supply chain. Additionally 1,700 bouquets were given to visiting Gold Star Families.
CalFlowers is proud to serve as the largest sponsor of the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation. As a leading advocate for floral promotion in the U.S., CalFlowers recognizes the importance of using flowers to connect communities and express gratitude. The Foundation’s mission aligns closely with CalFlowers’ mission of supporting the floral industry while enriching the lives of Americans through meaningful floral experiences.
CalFlowers’ Executive Director, Lane DeVries shared, “When you placed a flower at a headstone, you may have done it in silence, but what you were really saying was: You are not forgotten. Your courage lives on. Your story still matters.”
The 2025 event reflects the deep commitment of the floral industry to honor the memory of those who served. A network of over 100 flower growers, importers, and wholesale florists contributed thousands of flowers to the ANC event. Across the country more than 40 smaller tributes were logistically supported by MDFF. From growers and wholesalers to logistics providers, including Armellini Logistics and DV Flora, the collective effort required to make this tribute possible demonstrates the strength and solidarity of our floral industry.
The Memorial Day Flowers Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to all CalFlowers members who participated and supported this year’s Memorial Day Flowers effort.
